Waller County shares borders with Harris and Montgomery counties to the East, Fort Bend and Austin counties to the South and Grimes County to the North. Hempstead, the county's seat and largest city, is twenty-five miles northwest of Houston. In 2005 approximately 30,000 people lived in Waller County.
